clear answers.

Learn what to expect from a professional home inspection with SRP Inspections LLC throughout Chicagoland and surrounding suburbs.

What does a home inspection cover?+

A visual inspection of readily accessible major systems and components, including the structure, exterior, roof, electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling, interior, and more. The scope and limitations are explained in your inspection agreement and report.

When should I schedule an inspection?+

For a purchase, schedule as early as your contract and inspection period allow so you have time to review the findings and pursue any specialist evaluations you may need.

Does an inspection guarantee there are no defects?+

No. A home inspection is a visual assessment of accessible conditions at the time of inspection. Hidden, inaccessible, or future conditions cannot be guaranteed.

How long does a home inspection take?+

Most residential inspections take a few hours depending on the size, age, condition, and accessibility of the property. The report is delivered separately after the inspection.

Should I attend the inspection?+

You are welcome to attend. Many buyers find it helpful to be present for at least part of the inspection so the inspector can explain observations and answer questions.

What happens after the inspection?+

You receive a written report documenting the inspector’s observations. SRP Inspections can also help explain the findings and identify conditions that may warrant evaluation by an appropriate specialist.
